Building a United Front for Cybersecurity
December 21, 2016 | Robert Bergman
In the wake of recent news regarding cyber security and US Elections, comes a timely article from Control Magazine entitled “Building a united front for cybersecurity.”
This extensive look at the increasing emphasis on industrial cybersecurity by both end users and vendors reveals that “… a war on automation infrastructures is underway, and that external intrusions and attacks have been ramping up for the past 10 years”, and “that control systems can no longer rely on their historically physical isolation because so many now have links to higher-level enterprise systems and the Internet to get useful data out. Unfortunately, this creates security vulnerabilities that must be managed.”
The article includes a great overview of Bedrock Automation’s latest deployment in the municipal utilities market – Clarksville Power and Light – where Bedrock’s cyber secure platform plays a key role in safeguarding those operations. A video testimonial from John Lester, GM of Clarksville Power and Light, can be found here.
